+++++ Since Anand Vyas, Ph.D., LPC, NCC (Dr. V.) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Ph.D. in Psychology and has years of experience in providing counseling, life coaching, mindfulness, meditation, hypnotherapy, yoga therapy, and breathwork, he can make appropriate referrals if needed and can collaborate with other providers.

I am going to differentiate between Counseling, Life-coaching, and Mindfulness below to help clarify each of these services.

Counseling is based on a “medical model” and it is considered treatment. Life Coaching is not based on a “medical model” and it is not a treatment. Mindfulness is not based on a “medical model” and it is not a treatment.
Includes a treatment plan and intervention focusing on symptoms of emotional and behavioral issues. Mindfulness sessions/courses are not psychotherapy or counseling; however, they can be a valuable addition to psychotherapy/counseling.

Does not “fix” the client but helps them become more aware.

Focuses on awareness and the here and now.

Sessions are exploratory, educational and therapeutic in nature.

I listen to your thoughts, feelings, emotions, and problems.

Teach evidence-based coping skills which will be a lifetime investment.

Monitor your progress on a regular basis.

With your permission, can collaborate with other health care providers for collaboration of care.
